Our Story From Carpenter to Builder

The story of Bannister Building Developments starts with our founder, Kaileb. After working with a builder in Brisbane for several years, he decided to return home to Gympie to be closer to family. While back in his hometown, his passion for building never wavered.
Encouraged by his partner, who recognised his dedication and skill, Kaileb pursued further study, completed his Building Diploma, and earned his Open Builder’s Licence. Combining his on-the-tools experience as a carpenter with new qualifications, he set out to build a company that could deliver the same level of quality seen in city homes – but tailored for local families in Gympie and the Fraser Coast.
Bannister Building Developments was born out of hard work, late nights, and a commitment to doing things differently. Today, our company stands as a testament to the idea that with passion, dedication, and integrity, builders can truly make a difference in their community.

The inspiration to step out as independent builders came from a simple but powerful moment: a conversation at home. Kaileb’s partner expressed that she believed he had the skills, passion, and drive to create something unique. She recognised the love he had for the trade, and she also knew that Gympie needed builders who could bring a fresh approach. That encouragement was the spark that lit the flame, and it continues to motivate us every day.
